Highway 2 at 8th Street in Dawson Creek will be closed in both directions for four days starting Tuesday, May 25, to allow for utility work.
The closure is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, May 25, and conclude on Friday, May 28.
The work is planned between 110th Avenue and 106th Avenue in advance of construction to replace three culverts with a new four-lane bridge following the Peace flood event in 2016. The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has worked with the City of Dawson Creek during the development of the project schedule and traffic closures.
The detour for passenger vehicles travels around Kin Park from 110th Avenue to 13th Street, to 10th Street to 106th Avenue. The detour for commercial vehicles follows the dangerous goods route back to either highway 2 or 97. No delays are expected on either detour route.
Drivers are reminded to observe posted speed limits, traffic control devices and flag persons. For the most up-to-date information before travel, check: www.DriveBC.ca
