Koksilah River temporary protection order:

  • Affected water users will be contacted directly with a copy of the signed order. 
  • Affected licence numbers and transitioning groundwater-use application numbers are identified in the orders.
  • Mailouts to water users requesting voluntary reductions were sent on June 12, 2023.
  • A public information meeting attended by local agricultural producers was also held on June 6, 2023.

Upper Cowichan River angling closure:

  • Anglers are encouraged to report fish kills to their local Fish and Wildlife office or Report All Poachers And Polluters (RAPP) line (1 877 952-7277) and refer to the online version of the Freshwater Fishing Regulation Synopsis for angler alerts and potential in-season fishery closures.
