Premier David Eby has issued the following statement marking Eid al-Adha:
“Beginning this evening, and for the next three days, Muslims in British Columbia and around the world will be celebrating Eid al-Adha, the Feast of Sacrifice, and the end of the Hajj.
“To mark these holy days, Muslims will gather to exchange gifts and share food with family, friends and those in need. It’s a simple act that demonstrates generosity and a commitment to helping others and making our province a better place.
“Eid al-Adha is also an opportunity for reflection on the lessons of sacrifice – as demonstrated by the Prophet Ibrahim’s commitment and loyalty to God.
“To all who celebrate – Eid Mubarak!”
