Premier David Eby has issued the following statement on Yom Kippur:
“Tonight at sundown, Jewish communities in British Columbia and around the world will observe the beginning of Yom Kippur, marking the end of the 10 Days of Awe.
“The Day of Atonement is the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, a time for friends and family to fast, pray and seek forgiveness. It is a solemn day of reflection and repentance. Yom Kippur is also a time to set goals for the year ahead.
“May we all be united in a shared commitment to a better future.
“To all who observe Yom Kippur, we wish Tzom Kal and a G’Mar Chatimah Tovah.”
