Construction and skilled trades training in B.C.
  • Technical training in more than 60 trades programs is offered at 15 public post-secondary institutions throughout B.C., as well as non-public post-secondary institutions.
  • Construction is B.C.’s fourth-largest industry and employed 216,000 workers in 2021.
  • Between 2022 and 2032, the construction industry will post 72,700 job openings, accounting for more than 7% of the total job openings in the province.
  • SkilledTradesBC manages more than 100 trades programs in B.C., 49 of which are Red Seal programs.
  • SkilledTradesBC funds approximately 27,000 apprenticeship and foundation training seats at public and private institutions annually.
