Facts about Grey Cup economic activity
  • This is the 17th time Vancouver will host the Grey Cup. The last time was in 2014. This is the second-highest number of times behind only Toronto.
  • Recent hosts of the Grey Cup have seen positive economic benefits of: 
    • $81.1 million in 2018 (Edmonton);
    • $70.7 million in 2019 (Calgary); and
    • $34.8 million in 2021 (Hamilton – limited festival due to COVID-19).
  • The 2022 Grey Cup in Regina generated $67.8 million in economic activity in Canada and attracted:
    • 26,669 out-of-town visitors;
    • average length of stay for each visitor was 3.5 night; and
    • a total of $19.6 million in tourism spending.
  • B.C. has also been selected to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Vancouver and the 2025 Invictus Games in Whistler and Vancouver.
