Drivers are advised of weekend lane closures this month on the Stanley Park Causeway.
The closures are in support of a planned tree-removal project in Stanley Park led by the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation.
On the following dates, one lane will be closed on the Stanley Park Causeway. One lane in each direction will remain open:
- Sunday, Jan. 14 – 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.
- Sunday, Jan. 21 – 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.
- Saturday, Jan. 27 – 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Southbound pedestrians and bikes will be detoured through Stanley Park and to the east side of the causeway/bridge.
On Sunday, Jan. 28, 2024, from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m., the Stanley Park Causeway and Lions Gate Bridge will be fully closed to drivers, cyclists and pedestrians, followed by a single lane closure from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. During the full closure of the causeway, traffic will be detoured over the Ironworkers Memorial Second Narrows Crossing.
The full schedule of weekend lane closures can be found on the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation website: https://www.vancouver.ca/stanley-park-trees
While efforts are being made to keep impacts to a minimum, people should plan for delays and transit changes to and from the North Shore, and to consider using the Ironworkers Memorial Second Narrows Crossing as an alternative during the times noted above.
