What to know about BC Transit service expansion

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is committing approximately $29 million for new BC Transit system expansion in 36 systems around the province.

Service expansion:

Kelowna Conventional:

  • New 98 Rutland/UBCO Express service will be added for faster travel between UBCO, Rutland and downtown.
  • New services coming to the UBCO and the Academy Way area, including the replacement of the 4 Pandosy/Orchard Park with the 84 Academy Way route.
  • 19 Glenmore/Orchard Park will access Drysdale Boulevard via Kane Road.
  • More trips added to routes 1, 5, 8, 10, 11, 13 and 97.

Kelowna Custom:

  • $39,000 to expand availability of taxi-supplement program to assist with handyDART services at peak times on weekdays.
  • This service was implemented in April 2024.
