The fall sitting of the legislature starts Monday, Oct. 6, 2025, with government planning to introduce more than a dozen bills, most of which will be tabled in the first week.
“B.C. and Canada are facing serious challenges in the face of U.S. President Donald Trump’s attacks on our economy and sovereignty, and our legislation this fall reflects the urgency of that work,” said Mike Farnworth, government House leader. “Our legislative agenda is squarely focused on standing up for people in British Columbia at this critical time.”
The introduction of most of the legislation early in the session will allow MLAs, the media and the public to have as much time as possible to consider the bills. If passed, the legislation will provide good jobs to support B.C. families, ensure the fair treatment of workers, protect people from sexual violence and address affordability issues.
“We will also protect what makes us strong – delivering strong universal public health care, child care and homes people can afford that are the foundation of a strong economy,” Farnworth said.
Government’s priorities this fall include: leveraging B.C.’s strengths to be the economic engine of Canada; moving major projects forward; helping to create good family-supporting jobs; and strengthening the province's economy.
