Premier David Eby appointed George Anderson, MLA for Nanaimo-Lantzville, as parliamentary secretary for energy and climate solutions to support the work of Adrian Dix, Minister of Energy and Climate Solutions, on energy affordability and economic growth.
“Rising global energy costs are impacting British Columbians and people around the world – this means there is a generational opportunity to support families with electricity-affordability initiatives, while growing our economy with clean electricity at the same time,” Premier Eby said. “George brings a wealth of experience and a proven commitment to public service to this new role. I know he will work tirelessly to support Minister Dix’s efforts to create jobs and deliver affordability for British Columbians.”
Anderson previously served as parliamentary secretary for transit, a role he has held since November 2024.
“Clean, affordable energy is the foundation of a strong economy. It powers the homes we build, the jobs we create and the opportunity to deliver on the projects and priorities that matter most to people across British Columbia,” Anderson said. “I am honoured to take on this role to help British Columbia lead in the industries of the future while ensuring lasting prosperity for the people who call this beautiful province home.”
