As work progresses to widen Highway 1 through the Fraser Valley, drivers are advised of overnight traffic diversions eastbound and westbound on Highway 1 between Glover Road and 248th Street, beginning Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
The closures are necessary to allow crews to complete concrete deck pours on the new 232nd Street structure. The work is a key component of the Fraser Valley Highway 1 Corridor Improvement Program.
Eastbound Highway 1
Eastbound Highway 1 lane diversions will occur on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. The exit to 232nd Street will close at 7:30 p.m. The lane diversions will occur again on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
Westbound Highway 1
Westbound Highway 1 lane diversions will occur Friday, June 26, 2026, from 8:30 p.m. until 7 a.m.
The diversions will implement a highway crossover to allow traffic to flow in both directions in the westbound and then eastbound highway lanes. During the diversions, the exits to 232nd Street will be closed. The on-ramps to Highway 1 will remain open. Work is weather dependent, so the exact timing of the diversions could shift.
A reduced speed limit of 80 km/h will be in place. Drivers are asked to use caution, obey signage and traffic-control personnel, watch for roadside workers, and allow for additional travel time through the area when diversions are underway.
