Drivers are advised to plan for an overnight traffic-pattern change on Highway 1, both eastbound and westbound,at the 264th Street Interchange, as work progresses to widen Highway 1 through the Fraser Valley.

Starting as early as Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026, eastbound and westbound Highway 1 traffic will be detoured through the 264th Street Interchange’s on- and off-ramps. The diversions are planned overnight from 11 p.m. until 4:30 a.m., from Sept. 10 until Sept. 14.

This traffic-pattern change is necessary to allow the Ministry of Transportation and Transit’s contractor to safely demolish the existing 264th Street structure. This work is a key component of the Fraser Valley Highway 1 Corridor Improvement Program, which is dedicated to improving safety, reducing congestion and providing reliable travel.

Drivers are asked to slow down, use caution, obey signs and traffic-control personnel, and watch for roadside workers.

Allow for additional travel time through the area and follow posted speed limits.

Construction timelines are subject to change due to weather and other conditions.
