In honour of Auto Crime Enforcement Month in BC, Minister of Justice and Attorney General Suzanne Anton spoke about a decade of successes in reducing auto crime at the Integrated Municipal Provincial Auto Crime Team's (IMPACT)10th anniversary celebration. When IMPACT first started chasing car thieves in 2003, 70 people a day reported their vehicle stolen. Today, only 17 people reported a stolen vehicle on an average day. Vehicle theft decreased 75% in BC over the last decade, and theft from vehicles declined 17% in BC from 2012-2013, the year that IMPACT introduced BAIT property.
