BC's young athletes are having quite the summer!

Not only did Team BC capture the Western Canada Summer Games trophy last weekend for the 10th year in a row, but two BC ball clubs have been representing Canada this week at their respective world championships:

  • The Layritz Little League junior softball squad represented Canada at the 2011 Junior League Softball World Series (littleleague.org) in Kirkland, Washington this week. • Langley Baseball's 11/12 all-stars are wearing the country's colours at the Little League World Series (littleleague.org) in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Photo (facebook.com)   |  Facebook (facebook.com) |  Video (theglobeandmail.com) |  World Series Video (youtu.be)

You can congratulate these young BC athletes via social media:

  • For Layritz, post your note on their Facebook wall (facebook.com) .
  • For Langley, follow them @LittleLeague with the hashtag #Langley.

Ida Chong, BC's Minister of Community, Sport and Cultural Development, sent this message of support and congratulations.
