VANCOUVER - International Women's Day is a day to recognize the general celebration of respect and appreciation of women and also their economic, political and social achievements.
On March 8th 2015, the Industry Training Authority (ITA) and Minister of State for Tourism and Small Business joined a graduate who completed the ITA's Women in Trades Training Program (WITT) and is now an apprentice at the Tradeworks Training Society.
Tradeworks provides women and youth with life training and employment skills through hands on experience in the carpentry trade. ITA BC funds the 10-week Tradeworks introductory training program for women to help them find meaningful careers in the trades.
