The province is hosting a booth in the Canadian pavilion at Singapore’s CommunicAsia 2016 (May 31 - June 3), accommodating eight B.C. information and communications technology (ICT) companies.
CommunicAsia is the largest annual ICT event in Asia and is a popular venue for product launches and announcements, with 48,000 local and international attendees from more than 90 countries/regions.
The B.C. Ministry of International Trade is supporting the delegation of eight B.C. companies by facilitating business connections with international telecommunication companies and organizing B.C.'s presence at CommunicAsia 2016.
Before travelling to CommunicAsia, the five B.C. businesses visited Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam for a three-day market outreach program prepared for intelligence gathering, business partnering and company tours. In previous years, the delegation has participated in similar programs in Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines and Malaysia.
Making it easier for B.C. technology companies to access new markets is a key commitment in the #BCTECH Strategy. Supporting B.C. companies at international trade events like CommunicAsia is a critical part of that, helping technology companies make face-to-face connections with international trading partners to secure new investment and propel economic activity and job creation throughout the province.
