SURREY - British Columbia’s natural gas is creating a greener, more efficient transportation service. Over the next 10 years, FortisBC will provide liquefied natural gas (LNG) to BC Ferries as part of a new supply agreement.
Natural gas is clean-burning and offsets the need for diesel fuel. The use of LNG by BC Ferries will result in the reduction of an estimated 9,000 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent per year, the same as taking 1,900 passenger vehicles off the road annually.
