Today is Eid al-Adha, a day Muslims will commemorate the Festival of Sacrifice. For some, it will be the end of the annual pilgrimage to Mecca.
It's also a time to reflect on our traditions, value unity and offer charity.
As you gather to celebrate your faith with family and friends, whether you're praying at your local mosque, exchanging gifts, making donations, sharing dinner, recognize that life is sacred and be grateful for what you have.
As Minister Responsible for Multiculturalism, I extend my best wishes to people of the Islamic faith in BC and throughout the world on this very significant day.
Eid Mubarak!
