The Province and City of Abbotsford are moving forward with the development of a new Abbotsford courthouse that will create new jobs, increase access to justice and build a brighter future for British Columbia.

As of Jan. 16, 2017, British Columbians looking to purchase their first home can apply to the B.C. Home Owner Mortgage and Equity Partnership program, which helps first-time homebuyers create secure and stable futures for their families through home ownership.

Students in the Abbotsford School District are connecting with skills and technology training development thanks to a $17,500 grant to the district from the Province’s Shoulder Tappers Program.

The B.C. government has distributed $171,686 in compensation for municipal property taxes to the City of Abbotsford.

Communities in the Fraser Valley will benefit from one-time targeted funding of $177,917 for the University of the Fraser Valley to support adult-literacy programs.

Students, teachers and staff at 18 schools in the Abbotsford school district will benefit from $840,000 in provincial School Enhancement Program funding.  

The $9.8-million seismic upgrade project at Yale Secondary is now complete, ensuring students, teachers and staff have a safe place to learn and teach for years to come.

Building on the #BCTECH Strategy, Advanced Education Minister Andrew Wilkinson announced $500,000 in funding to expand short-term computer coding courses to nine public post-secondary institutions.
