Jennifer Whiteside, Minister of Labour, has issued the following statement about the Kootenay Lake ferry labour dispute:

Drivers should expect delays on Highway 17 northbound as the right lane of the highway near Keating Cross Road requires emergency repairs.

Drivers should plan ahead for nighttime closures on Highway 1 eastbound near the 264th Street interchange, late tonight, March 28, 2025, while the contractor removes an overhead sign.

Students studying at Nicola Valley Institute of Technology (NVIT) Merritt campus will have access to more on-campus housing and child care, with construction to begin soon on a new family housing complex.

Drivers are advised Highway 1 will be reduced to one lane eastbound and one lane westbound starting tonight, March 27, 2025, at Flood Hope Road in Hope (Exit 165) to address a rapidly deteriorating sinkhole across the eastbound lanes.
