New support for manufacturing businesses in the Fraser Valley will help create 108 jobs and promote the development of made-in-B.C. products, while strengthening local economies and communities.

Drivers are advised that the Agassiz-Rosedale Bridge on Highway 9 will require two closures of 20 minutes each during the night on Monday, February 25, for seismic and safety upgrade work.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has awarded a $3.7-million contract to Tybo Contracting Ltd. to carry out the Rosedale Overhead seismic upgrade, along with cycling and pedestrian improvements to the crossing.

The world is changing and B.C. students need to be ready to adapt to the careers of tomorrow. Students in the Fraser-Cascade School District will be prepared thanks to $22,500 in provincial funding awarded to the district, helping to connect kids with opportunities in skilled trades and tech training. 

Kent seniors will benefit from a $15,000 age-friendly grant to help create programs or tools that address the needs of the district's older residents. The District of Kent is one of 27 communities receiving grants for 2013.
