Canadians will be better equipped for the well-paying middle-class jobs of today and tomorrow as a result of a $10-million investment in College of the Rockies for a new trades-training facility.

Adult learners in Cranbrook will benefit from one-time targeted funding of $59,200 for College of the Rockies to support literacy programs.

Students at College of the Rockies (COTR) will benefit from $187,000 in funding toward the purchase of trades equipment, such as automatic truck transmissions for the heavy duty equipment technician program.

Premier Christy Clark announced $450,000 to support the transition and planning work that will allow nursing students at the College of the Rockies to complete the four-year University of Victoria degree program in the region.
