More than 70 new rental homes are coming to Gibsons as families, seniors and individuals begin moving into a completed Phase 1 development and construction begins on Phase 2, a BC Builds delivered project. 

People in the community of Gibsons will be better served by a collaborative approach to complex social challenges in order to deliver faster access to services for individuals at risk of harm or victimization.

More affordable housing is coming to Gibsons as construction starts soon on 76 homes for seniors with low and middle incomes.

People experiencing homelessness are moving into safe and secure homes with wraparound supports as a new supportive housing project opens in the community.

The governments of Canada and British Columbia are partnering with the Town of Gibsons to create 40 much-needed supportive homes for people who are experiencing homelessness.

Responding to urgent need in the community, the Government of B.C. is reopening the shelter at 599 Gower Point Rd., providing people experiencing homelessness with warm, safe beds right where they live and without having to travel to Sechelt, the nearest major city.

The world is changing and B.C. students need to be ready to adapt to the careers of tomorrow. Students in the Sunshine Coast School District will be prepared thanks to $22,500 in provincial funding awarded to the district, helping to connect kids with opportunities in skilled trades and tech training. 

Students, teachers and staff at Langdale Elementary school in the Sunshine Coast school district will benefit from $497,500 in provincial School Enhancement Program funding.
