Seniors will soon have more affordable homes to choose from in Kamloops as construction gets underway on a 37-unit rental housing project in the community.

With the help of additional funding through the Province’s 10-year housing plan, 60 new affordable rental homes are under construction in Kamloops.

In response to feedback from Indigenous communities and local governments, the Province continues to improve the criteria for Community Resiliency Investment (CRI) program grants.

Drivers are advised the eastbound Highway 1 exit onto Highway 5 North in Kamloops will be closed for rehabilitation work from 8 p.m. Sunday, July 12, to 6:30 a.m. Monday, July 13.

The official BC Wildfire Service mobile app is now available, providing real-time wildfire information and an interactive map that users can customize to display a variety of fire-related data.

Following an investigation, the BC Wildfire Service has determined the cause of the 2017 Elephant Hill wildfire.

Effective at noon (Pacific time) on Thursday, April 16, 2020, most open burning activities will be prohibited throughout British Columbia to reduce the likelihood of human-caused wildfires, although campfires will still be allowed.
