The Government of B.C. and the Central Okanagan School District have partnered to invest $36.1 million for a brand new Okanagan Mission Junior Middle school for students in the fast growing neighbourhood of Okanagan Mission.

British Columbia is focusing on preventing invasive mussels from entering the province by opening two new invasive mussel inspections stations near the border at Yahk and Midway, and extending the hours of all inspection stations throughout the province.

The B.C. government is providing $13,500 to the Regional District of Central Okanagan to help manage invasive plants in the Okanagan.

Kelowna International Airport will receive $1 million in funding this year from the B.C. Air Access Program for apron rehabilitation.

Kelowna will receive $777,435 in BikeBC funding this year for the Okanagan Rail Trail (Dilworth Drive to Airport Way).

Visitors will soon have more camping opportunities in the Okanagan, with the construction of 55 new campsites, in time for the upcoming camping season.

Students in the Central Okanagan School District will benefit from $3.8 million in provincial funding for a school upgrade project, classroom supplies and nine new school buses, MLA Steve Thomson announced on behalf of Education Minister Mike Bernier.

Families with low-to moderate-incomes will benefit from 20 units of affordable rental housing, thanks to a new agreement between the B.C. government and the City of Kelowna.
