Sixty temporary homes will soon be available for people experiencing homelessness in Kelowna as construction gets underway on the second project created through an agreement between the Province and the city.

People in Rutland will see increased access to team-based health care with a new urgent and primary care centre (UPCC) and a community health centre (CHC).

Families and children living in the Kelowna area now have access to child care at the Kelowna Airport YMCA Child Care centre, making pickup and dropoff easy for parents and caregivers working at the airport or living nearby.

A few hundred Kelowna families can now have their kids in child care conveniently located on school grounds, with more child care spaces opening in the coming months.

People experiencing homelessness in Kelowna will soon have access to 60 new temporary homes as part of an agreement recently announced by the Province and City of Kelowna.

The Province and the City of Kelowna have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that formalizes their commitment to work together to better support people who are unhoused, sheltering in encampments and to help prevent encampments in the future.
