Skatin, Samahquam and Xa’xtsa First Nation members will have safer access to their remote communities with new improvements coming to forest service roads in the Lillooet area of B.C. 

People can get involved in the comprehensive timber supply review for the Lillooet Timber Supply Area (TSA) by submitting comments before Oct. 18, 2022.

A new protected area next to the recently established Nlhaxten/Cerise Creek Conservancy will help conserve biodiversity, support traditional Indigenous land-use activities and protect cultural landmarks.

Comments are being accepted until Aug. 23, 2019, on proposed resource objectives for Pipi7iyekw, an old-growth forest and sensitive area located in the shared territory of Lil’wat and St’at’imc Nations, in the Cascades Natural Resource District.

Under the BC Rural Dividend Program, the Government of British Columbia is providing $906,306 for seven projects in the Lillooet district.

In response to the extreme landslide risk in the Upper Lillooet, the Province is closing public access to the Lillooet River Forest Service Road indefinitely.

Thanks to $40,000 in provincial Brownfield Renewal funding, the District of Lillooet can start to redevelop the old Bridge Road landfill.

Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations Minister Steve Thomson has announced $10,000 for the Lillooet Regional Invasive Species Society to help reduce the spread and impact of invasive plants on Crown land.
