Highway 99 south of Lillooet is expected to reopen at approximately 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024, after crews clear away two mudslides. 

The Lil’wat Nation and the Village of Pemberton have planted the seeds of a community forest partnership that will help grow local jobs and economic opportunities, while enhancing stewardship of local lands.

And they’re off! Local sporthorse breeder and rider and horse-training company, Dreamcatcher Meadows Sporthorse Breeding and Training Centre (DMV), is launching a project to increase awareness and sales of  B.C. bred sporthorses.

The B.C. government is providing $91,000 to two organizations to help manage invasive plants in the Sea to Sky area.

Up to 36 British Columbians from Pemberton, Mount Currie and surrounding areas are receiving the training they need for jobs in their communities, thanks to the federal-provincial partnership under the Canada-B.C. Job Fund Agreement.

BC Wildfire Service crews will be conducting a series of controlled pile burns in the Pemberton area in October and November to remove logging debris and reduce the risk of wildfires in the area.

Under the BC Rural Dividend, the Province is providing $100,000 to the N’Quatqua First Nation to create a five-year comprehensive economic development strategy, West Vancouver-Sea to Sky MLA Jordan Sturdy announced.

Drivers can expect heavy traffic volumes and possible delays along the Sea-to-Sky Highway (Highway 99) between Horseshoe Bay and Pemberton, as concert goers will be making their way to and from the Pemberton Music Festival from Thursday, July 14 to Monday, July 18, 2016.
