Real-time information sharing during emergencies is one of the tools being developed to keep visitors to northern British Columbia safer this summer.

Effective at noon on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, Category 2 open fires will be prohibited within the Prince George and Stuart Nechako forest districts in the Prince George Fire Centre, due to dry and hot conditions in the forecast.

As part of its ongoing commitment to reduce wildfire threats, the B.C. government is providing more than $395,000 in community resiliency investment grants to support projects in the Prince George Fire Centre.
