The B.C. government has launched a review of BC Timber Sales (BCTS) to ensure British Columbia’s forestry sector is continually evolving to overcome challenges and create a guideline for a stronger, more resilient future.

New funding for six wood-product manufacturers and two fabricated-metal manufacturers will create and protect hundreds of resource-sector jobs for people and strengthen B.C.’s value-added wood sector and local economies.

Locals and visitors from around the world will have a variety of festivals, contests and shows to choose from in communities around B.C. over the coming year, with support from B.C.’s Tourism Events Program.

The Government of British Columbia is investing $7.8 million to promote the use of B.C. wood overseas, advance wood building systems and products, and expand global markets.

The provincial government released its agenda to enhance the competitiveness of B.C.’s forest sector so that it continues to make investments and provide family-supporting jobs in communities throughout the province.

The Government of British Columbia announced that it is investing $6.2 million to support the forest sector in expanding global markets for B.C. wood products.
