In advance of legislation this fall, the Province is holding a fair credentials town hall with internationally trained professionals, key organizations and advocates to talk about progress made on international credential recognition in health care and the work being done to expand to all sectors of the economy.

More newcomers to the province will be able to find rewarding, skilled jobs in their communities through several new and innovative programs offered through the Immigrant Employment Council of BC (IEC-BC).

Racialized people living in Surrey and area will soon be to able access new opportunities – and protections – through a $987,000 provincial grant to Solid State Community Industries.

More people in Surrey and the Fraser Valley will be able to pursue careers in physical therapy at a new training space coming to Surrey.

More parents in Surrey and Langley will have the option to return to work, go back to school or pursue other opportunities as the Province invests in more than 285 new licensed child care spaces, about 200 of which are expected to open by the fall. 

Up to 36 eligible British Columbians will get skills training and certification courses to prepare them for jobs as automotive service technicians, millwrights and welders.

Up to 30 eligible British Columbians will get skills and training to prepare them for jobs as multicultural workers and outreach and family support workers in B.C.’s communities and schools.
