New child care spaces create more options for families

Centre programming will align with the Aboriginal Head Start six components: culture and language, education, health promotion, nutrition, social support and parental and family involvement. The centre will offer health fairs, access to a traditional healer and Elder visits, immunization clinics and pop-up clinics to connect families with community supports.

A commercial facility has been renovated to create 80 new licensed child care spaces, including 48 spaces for children aged three years to kindergarten, 16 pre-school spaces and 16 school-age spaces. The services will be operated by the fédération on SD 93's school grounds.
