A detour will be in effect for motorists destined for Barnston Island and Surrey Bend Park from 7 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, until 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2019.

Work will begin next week to resurface interchange ramps along a busy stretch of Highway 99, making the drive safer and smoother for people along this section of highway in south Surrey.

A detour will be in effect for motorists destined for Barnston Island and Surrey Bend Park from 3 p.m. on Friday, June 7, until 5:30 a.m. on Monday, June 10, 2019.

Crews will be repairing the single-lane Bailey Bridge crossing of the Nicomekl River in south Surrey and northbound traffic will be diverted onto the adjacent two-lane structure from Nov. 19 to Nov. 26, 2018.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure advises that ferry service between Barnston Island and Port Kells will be adjusted based on Fraser River water levels, and in support of any evacuation alerts and orders issued for Barnston Island.

The emergency repairs at the 152nd Street underpass are nearly complete, and the northbound lane on 152nd Street is expected to reopen in the coming days.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has determined a schedule for repairing the 152nd St. underpass at Highway 99 and replacing the Bailey Bridge on King George Boulevard in Surrey.

Commuters are advised the northbound fast lane of Highway 99 at the 152nd St. underpass in Surrey is open following an incident Monday where an over-height commercial vehicle struck the underpass.
