Women and children leaving violence in Valemount and the surrounding region now have safe new homes with the opening of Ada’s Place, a 14-unit women’s housing development.

A seven-kilometre section of the world-renowned Berg Lake Trail in Mount Robson Provincial Park is now open to hikers after flooding damaged part of the trail in 2021.

Women and children leaving violence will soon have a safe place to recover and rebuild their lives as construction begins on a new women’s housing project in Valemount.

Seniors and families with low to moderate incomes in Valemount are settling into their new affordable rental homes as construction has been completed on a new 13-unit apartment building.

Emil Anderson Maintenance is assuming highway maintenance for Service Area 20, the Robson area, located in north-central British Columbia at the crossroads of the Trans-Canada/Yellowhead Highway 16 and the Yellowhead Highway 5.

Construction is underway on 13 new affordable rental homes for seniors and families in Valemount through a partnership between the Province, the Columbia Basin Trust, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation and the Valemount Affordable Rentals Society (VARS).

Child care will soon be closer to home for families in Valemount as the Province invests in 24 new child care spaces to give more parents the option to return to work, go back to school or pursue other opportunities.

Under the BC Rural Dividend Program, the Government of British Columbia is providing $102,014 for two projects in the Robson Valley that will support economic diversity and promote traditional skill development in the area.

The Government of British Columbia and the Columbia Basin Trust are partnering with Valemount Affordable Rentals Society to provide better affordable rental housing options for students and low-income people in the Valemount region.
