Visitors will soon have more camping opportunities throughout British Columbia with the completion of more than 350 new campsites in BC Parks and forestry recreation sites, in time for the upcoming camping season.

The Province will increase and strengthen conservation in its world-renowned parks with a new investment of $35 million over the next three years.

The legendary Kermode bear found only in British Columbia, the snow-capped Purcell Mountains and a stunning view from Porteau Cove overlooking Howe Sound – these are the iconic images emblazoned on the new BC Parks commemorative licence plates.

The Province, in partnership with the BC Lung Association, is improving air quality throughout B.C. by providing $15,500 to Metro Vancouver as part of the Provincial Wood Stove Exchange Program.

The Province will build on its world-renowned provincial parks system by hiring more park rangers to enhance conservation, improving services for persons with disabilities and launching a new BC Parks Foundation so community groups, businesses and individuals can come together and have a voice in BC Parks priorities.

Public open houses have been scheduled for Delta and Richmond in late January, as part of the third phase of consultation on the George Massey Tunnel Replacement Project and the public comment period for the environmental assessment process.
