Gone are the days of cordoned-off beer gardens at family-friendly festivals in B.C., thanks to liquor law changes made today that open up new opportunities for B.C. families and the province’s multitude of festivals and special events.

The governments of Canada and British Columbia have reached an agreement that will help British Columbians with disabilities gain the skills and experience they need to get jobs.

The Province is joining forces with a leading-edge, not-for-profit research institute to help advance a bio-friendly technology that will expand the market for B.C. wood fibre and help secure jobs in the forest industry.

The majority of the funding will help community dental clinics deliver dental care to vulnerable populations, including children, seniors, First Nations, people with disabilities, people experiencing homelessness and people receiving income and disability assistance.

Whether in the classroom, in the stadium, on TV or online, the Be More Than a Bystander message is spreading to young people throughout the province who are learning what they can do to break the silence on violence against women and girls.
