The Province has launched the Opioid Treatment Access Line to make it faster and easier for people to get life-saving medication to treat opioid-use disorder and get connected to same-day care.

Cellphones and other digital devices will be restricted in B.C. schools when students return to school next week as part of a series of actions to keep kids safe and healthy.

The largest provincial investment in on-campus student housing will lead to more than 1,500 new post-secondary beds on the University of British Columbia’s Vancouver campus, as the Province continues to build homes for students at a record pace.

Women will have improved access to cancer care as the Province expands gynecological oncology surgical services to new regions and strengthens the teams providing care with more staff, including new gynecological oncologists.

Following a stretch of high temperatures and several heat warnings throughout the province, and with potentially challenging wildfire weather forecast, the BC Wildfire Service is implementing a campfire ban in all parts of B.C., except Haida Gwaii.    

Plans for a community building are moving ahead in the Downtown Eastside (DTES), and will now include additional supportive and affordable homes, connected to health and social services.

As B.C. transitions into warmer, drier summer months, the Province continues to take action to help keep people and communities safe from wildfires.

Internationally educated professionals will soon have a more streamlined, efficient and transparent process to get their credentials recognized in B.C.
