It’s holiday season again and the Government of B.C. is reminding British Columbians to celebrate safely and make good decisions when riding in limousines or any vehicle with perimeter seating during celebrations.

During construction of the Stanley Park Causeway pedestrian and cycling safety improvement project, detours will be implemented to ensure the safety of construction crews and the travelling public.

Between the hours of 4 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015, the Stanley Park Causeway will be closed for site preparation work for the Stanley Park Causeway pedestrian and cycling safety improvement project.

The RBC GranFondo Whistler cycling event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015.

Construction is slated to begin Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015, on a major pedestrian and cyclist safety improvement project for the Stanley Park Causeway.

Wider sidewalks on both sides of the Ironworkers Memorial Bridge will open to pedestrians and cyclists, allowing for a safer crossing on this key connection between communities on the North Shore, Burnaby and Vancouver.

The previously planned schedule for work this weekend has been delayed until Aug. 14-16, 2015, inclusive.

Drivers, pedestrians and cyclists are advised to expect delays on the Lions Gate Bridge from Aug. 5 – 9, 2015, inclusive for nighttime repaving of the Lions Gate Bridge north approach viaduct.

The Government of Canada, the B.C. government and TransLink are celebrating the beginning stages of upgrades to Metro Vancouver’s busiest SkyTrain stations to improve accessibility, capacity, safety and security. Construction work began at Metrotown, Commercial-Broadway and New Westminster stations this spring.

Drivers, pedestrians and cyclists are advised that the Ironworkers Memorial Second Narrows Bridge on Highway 1 will be closed on July 28, 2015, from approximately 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. for the installation of new overhead signs.
