The Province has proclaimed October as Library Month – it’s a great time to celebrate literacy and check out your local library to see how it’s evolving to support your community.

Officials with the governments of British Columbia and Alaska signed an agreement establishing a bilateral working group that will build on and enhance water quality monitoring, environmental assessments and permitting relating to trans-boundary mines and development in both jurisdictions.

With almost $10 million provided from the province’s BC Knowledge Development Fund (BCKDF), the University of Victoria (UVic) will embark on six new research projects,  including outfitting a new research facility at Vancouver-based TRIUMF, Canada’s national laboratory for particle and nuclear physics and accelerator-based science.

Following a proposal call in February 2016, the British Columbia government has announced the preferred proponents to own and operate two social housing sites that are currently owned by the Province and managed by BC Housing.
