Ravi Kahlon, Minister of Jobs and Economic Growth, has issued the following statement on the release of Statistics Canada’s Labour Force Survey for September 2025:

Government introduced the housing and municipal affairs statutes amendment act, 2025 (Bill 25) to the legislative assembly on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2025. 

B.C. consumers will benefit from stronger tools to protect against credit-related fraud and to support confident financial decision-making, with the introduction of the second phase of amendments to modernize consumer protection laws.

A new proposed law will hold vaping product manufacturers and wholesalers accountable for deceptive practices that prioritize profit over people.

Businesses and workers from the construction sector will benefit from greater certainty with new legislation that will ensure contractors, subcontractors and workers are paid fairly and on time.

Government is introducing legislation and an action plan to strengthen support for post-secondary communities in preventing and responding to sexual violence.

People who had their intimate images shared without their consent will have access to higher compensation and better privacy protections while navigating the justice process with the introduction of amendments to the Intimate Images Protection Act (IIPA).

With new funding, more people experiencing barriers to employment, such as Indigenous people, people on income assistance and those with complex needs, are training for in-demand jobs.
