British Columbia is boosting skilled-trades training throughout the province so people can secure family-supporting jobs created through major projects.

Young people facing barriers to employment throughout the province will have more opportunities to find jobs and improve their life skills supported by new provincial funding.

Government introduced the housing and municipal affairs statutes amendment act, 2025 (Bill 25) to the legislative assembly on Thursday, Oct. 9, 2025. 

Businesses and workers from the construction sector will benefit from greater certainty with new legislation that will ensure contractors, subcontractors and workers are paid fairly and on time.

With new funding, more people experiencing barriers to employment, such as Indigenous people, people on income assistance and those with complex needs, are training for in-demand jobs.
