The Province of British Columbia is creating a $100-million venture capital fund as it builds the foundation for a comprehensive technology strategy aimed at stimulating growth in the fast-moving sector, creating jobs and strengthening a diverse economy.

Tech sector entrepreneurs, innovators and leaders are invited to grow their businesses by being part of the conversation at B.C.’s first #BCTECH Summit, taking place Jan. 18 – 19, 2016, at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

The B.C. government is distributing approximately $17.3 million this month in compensation for municipal property taxes to 56 communities around the province.

Management of personal information by government ministries will be reviewed by the Office of the Chief Information Officer in the wake of a misplaced backup hard drive containing B.C. and Yukon student information from 1986 to 2009.

With close to 500 British Columbians on the transplant waiting list, Service BC and BC Transplant are encouraged by the number of British Columbians signing up to become an organ donor to save the life of a neighbour, co-worker, friend or family member in need, however, additional registrations are needed.
