Students throughout B.C. will soon be learning in safer, improved schools now that more funding is available to school districts.

More people are choosing to pursue studies in early childhood education, which is good news for families, communities, children and B.C.’s economy.

Thirty-four education professionals from throughout B.C. have been named as finalists in this year’s Premier’s Awards for Excellence in Education.

Families and more pre-kindergarten children will soon have their early learning opportunities enhanced as the Just B4 early childhood education program expands from one to six districts this school year.

British Columbians are encouraged to read their favourite book, head outside for some fresh air, play their favourite games and connect with family virtually while growing their literacy skills and celebrating Family Literacy Week 2021.

Government is providing school districts with a total of $95 million to help them extend the life of their facilities, put new supplies in classrooms and buy new school buses. 

British Columbia finished 2016 with more than $950 million worth of school construction projects underway – something the Province will be building on in 2017.
