Twelve First Nations throughout B.C. are receiving provincial funding to support clean-energy projects that will help their members lower energy costs and provide them access to efficient, sustainable sources of energy.

The Province is taking action to strengthen British Columbia’s energy resilience and support local biofuel producers, ensuring cleaner transportation fuels and greater energy security for people in B.C.

The Province is building on the progress it has made to cut harmful methane emissions by strengthening its regulations for the oil and gas sector.

The Province and Energy and Natural Resources Canada are investing $195 million in Tahltan territory, enhancing road safety and reliability, opening up better access to more services for First Nations and local communities, as well as for critical minerals development.

BC Hydro will build more than $3 billion in capital projects on Vancouver Island over the next decade to upgrade and expand the electricity grid and provide clean power for homes and businesses in growing communities.

The Province of British Columbia, Teck Resources Limited (Teck) and the Taku River Tlingit First Nation (TRTFN) are taking a collaborative approach to jointly advance remediation of the former Tulsequah Chief Mine site.

The Province has introduced legislative amendments to enable regulation of electricity service for cryptocurrency miners and also to eliminate the former government’s Standing Offer Program for purchasing power.
