Three Vancouver companies are accelerating the transition to a low-carbon economy by advancing zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) technology with support from the CleanBC Go Electric Advanced Research and Commercialization (ARC) program.

Community groups and local governments throughout the province can receive funding through the Community Outreach Incentive Program (COIP) to educate and encourage people to switch to electric vehicles (EVs).

The Province and BC Hydro have released recommendations from Phase 2 of the BC Hydro Review to get more electric vehicles on the road.

The Province has announced the first set of its recommendations from Phase 2 of the BC Hydro Review to help people and businesses use clean electricity to reduce their carbon footprints, achieve CleanBC climate targets and support clean economic development.

The Province is taking action to enhance the Site C Project Assurance Board to strengthen its independence and increase its expertise.

In partnership with the Government of Canada, the Province and BC Hydro are reducing rates and lowering the costs of connecting to the electricity grid to help industries, public transportation agencies and neighbourhood energy systems reduce greenhouse gas emissions and attract new clean tech industries to British Columbia.

The Zero-Emission Vehicles Act (ZEVA), passed on May 29, 2019, means all new light-duty cars and trucks sold in the province will be clean energy vehicles by 2040, delivering on a key commitment the government made in its CleanBC plan.
