Breathing clean air is important to all British Columbians which is why the B.C. Government is providing $300,000 to the BC Lung Association for the continuation of two successful air quality programs, in recognition of Clean Air Day.

The B.C. government has proclaimed June 2015 to be "Invasive Species Action Month' to raise awareness of the environmental and economic damage that invasive plants and animals can cause if they become established in British Columbia.

Conservation officers, natural resource officers and park rangers want everyone to have a safe and fun holiday, so they'll be ramping up patrols over the May long weekend.

Temporary safety measures will be taken to restrict vehicle access to the parking lot at Sombrio Beach over the May long weekend to discourage unauthorized activities, such as parties and vandalism.

Thousands of people are expected to head to BC Parks throughout the province to take in the great outdoors this May long weekend, in what is expected to be another record year for visitors.
