A new government-to-government agreement between the Northern Secwepemc te Qelmucw (NStQ) and the provincial government will help build healthy and prosperous First Nations communities, benefiting people in the Cariboo region.

The Government of British Columbia and Blueberry River First Nations have agreed to further adjourn pending litigation until April 29, 2019, to allow for continued collaboration on addressing the effects of resource development in Blueberry River territory. 

A new Indigenous Tools for Living workshop is being offered to help social-service providers, social workers and health-care workers gain the skills required to support clients struggling with emotional and intergenerational trauma in their communities.

The Province of British Columbia and Blueberry River First Nations have agreed to adjourn pending litigation until Oct. 15, 2018, as an outcome of productive negotiations.

Emergency Management BC (EMBC) and the Justice Institute of British Columbia are working with First Nations communities to develop relevant and effective emergency management training, based on the unique needs of First Nations.

The Government of British Columbia has underscored its commitment to work with Indigenous peoples in the spirit of respect and collaboration by introducing a set of draft principles designed to guide the daily work of provincial government employees. Don Wright, head of the BC Public Service shared the draft principles with all 27,000 public service employees on Tuesday, May 22, 2018.
