The Government of British Columbia has appointed five new members to the BC Arts Council board to strengthen arts and cultural activity in communities throughout the province, with veteran arts administrator Susan Jackson appointed as chair.

October marked another strong month of growth for British Columbia’s tourism sector, with an increase in international visitors.  

As the holidays arrive, the Minister of Tourism Arts and Culture is encouraging everyone to join with family and friends to enjoy British Columbia and support a flurry of community activities.

A new online interactive map has been launched to educate people about francophone heritage in B.C. and help boost tourism to the province, Adrian Dix, Minister of Health and Minister responsible for the Francophone Affairs Program, announced today.

September was a strong month for tourism in British Columbia, with an increase in international visitor arrival numbers.

Lisa Beare, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, led a successful trade mission to Los Angeles last week to increase investment in British Columbia’s media production industries.

Applications are now being accepted for the next round of funding through the Multiculturalism Grant Program.

The British Columbia government is strengthening its support for addressing racism and promoting multiculturalism with a commitment of $250,000 to the BC Anti-racism Network and the appointment of new members to the Multicultural Advisory Council.
