Travel information for provincial highways, including road closures, planned work and extreme weather conditions, is now available in Open511 format as a real-time data feed that businesses and programmers can use to create new apps and online services for the consumer market.

Beginning at 7 p.m. today, there will be a southbound lane closure in place on Highway 1 near the McKenzie/Admirals intersection to allow crews to undertake geotechnical investigations as part of early work for the McKenzie Interchange Project.

As many people get ready to go on road trips and camping trips this Labour Day long weekend, the B.C. government is encouraging everyone to be road smart on their journeys.
