The annual Great British Columbia ShakeOut took place at the Vancouver Public Library on Thursday Oct. 15, reminding British Columbians about the importance of proper technique to protect yourself during an earthquake.
ShakeOutBC organizers invited Minister of State for Emergency Preparedness Naomi Yamamoto to join with City of Vancouver and Insurance Bureau of Canada reps to speak to the importance of the “Drop, Cover and Hold On” technique during an earthquake.
More than 770,000 people took part in the drill across the province along with more than 41.5 million worldwide.
